GREEN FILMING REPORTS

Green filming has been a key concern of the Austrian Film Institute since 2019. Green production has become increasingly established in recent years and is an essential component of funding concepts (both in Austria and abroad) with regard to sustainability and CO2 emissions reduction. The specific funding guidelines form the legal basis for the implementation and establishment of ecologically sustainable production. This is a significant contribution to national and European climate protection goals as a contemporary quality standard for films supported by the Austrian Filminstitute in production.

To support filmmakers and production companies, the Austrian Film Institute has had a Green Filming Department since 1 January 2023.
