Legal basis for the processing of data
Legal basis for the processing of your personal data is our prevailing valid interest (according to art. 6 para. 1 lit f EU General Data Protection Regulation) to reach the goals stated under pt. 3.
Period of data retention
Your data is usually retained for 12 months. A longer retention only takes place in exceptional cases, e.g. to investigate attacks on our website or in case of legal obligations and within the frame of professional relations. For the purpose of quality assurance, anonymised data will be stored up to 38 months (Google Analytics).
If you register on our website, your data will be stored as long as your accounts exists and afterwards only as long as foreseen by legal obligations. If you register for our newsletter, we will store your data until you cancel your subscription or the newsletter is discontinued.
Transmission of personal data
For the above mentioned purposes personal data will only be transmitted to our designated IT-service providers.
Some of these addressees (e.g. Google Analytics) reside outside your home country or process your data outside your home country. The level of data protection in other countries may not be equal to that of your country of residence. But we only transmit data to countries for which the EU-Commission has decided that they reach an adequate level of data protection or we implement measures to ensure that all addressees offer an appropriate level of data protection. For this purpose, we conclude for example standardised contract clauses (2010/EC and/or 2004/915/EC).

Visits of our website
If you visit our website, the following data is collected: Date and time of your visit of our website, your IP-address, name and version of your browser, the website (URL) which you have visited before, certain cookies and the information which you have provided by filling in the request to receive our newsletter. There is no obligation to disclose the data we request when you visit our website but the functioning of the website may be affected if you do not provide this data.
Your contact information
If you disclose data by contact- or other forms, by other input options on the website or if you contact us by e-mail, telephone or personally, we retain your information and contact details for twelve months to respond to your request and for possible follow-up questions. We will not transmit your data to third parties without your prior consent.
Newsletter
You have the possibility to sign up for our newsletter on our website. For this purpose we need your e-mail address and your declaration that you agree to receive the newsletter.
As soon as you have signed up for the newsletter we will send you a confirmation e-mail with a link to confirm your subscription.
You can cancel the subscription at any time by clicking on the appropriate link in the newsletter. But you can also send an e-mail to the following address: datenschutz@filminstitut.at. We will immediately remove you from the addressee list of the newsletter.
Transmission of personal data for the purpose of sending the newsletter is regulated by a contract in line with the EU-GDPR.

Only in exceptional cases will the full IP-address be sent to a Google-server in the USA and shortened/anonymised there as soon as Google receives your IP-address.
