Reference film funding

Based on the production of a successful cinema film (reference film) complying with the funding prerequisites, the Film Institute will support the production and/or development of a new film in the form of non-repayable contributions (reference funds), if the film has reached at least 40,000 reference points. The reference points will be determined by the national admissions as well as the success at internationally recognized festivals and prizes (see Annex A – festival list of the funding Guidelines on the bottom of the german version of this page).
