Over the years 35 year old truck driver Don Pedro and his paraplegic business partner have devised an elaborate but also illegal system whereby the smuggle African refugees to Europe. Jackie, a Nigerian woman, is on the run across the Sahara going north, her son Theo at her side. At the border between Africa and Europe, they meet for the first time. Pedro succeefully carries the two passengers to Europe and falls in love with Jackie along the way.
