Bei Tag und bei Nacht – Aus dem Leben eines Bergdoktors

The film is the living portrait of a Carinthian country doctor and his peasant clientele throughout one year in midst of the grandiose Alpine world of the Lienzer Dolomiten. Both professions, country doctor and Alpine peasants, are in a precarious situation: they are menaced by extinction. Accompanying the doctor we explore a small world in all its manifold dimensions, fighting to retain their way of living and protect it against the pressure to adapt to modernity.
