The Austrian Film Institute regularly publishes the Austrian Film Gender Report, a comprehensive study examining gender relations within the Austrian film industry. The report draws not only on AFI data, but on data from a total of eleven Austrian funding institutions. In addition to analyzing the allocation of funding, it also examines the gender composition of film crews as well as on-screen representation and content in Austrian theatrical films.
The first report was published in 2018, followed by subsequent editions in 2021 and 2024.
