Transnational harmonisation

The Green Filming Criteria Catalogues D/ATWith the introduction of nationwide mandatory film funding regulations in Germany and the establishment of the “Ecological Standards for German Cinema, TV, and Online/VoD Productions” as a uniform standard for the implementation of German film projects, it is necessary to find cross-state solutions for joint co-productions and to work hand in hand in this area.During the creation and development in 2022 of the “Criteria Catalog of Ecological Minimum Standards for Austrian Cinema Film Productions ÖFI/ÖFI+” (Level 2), initial steps toward harmonization were taken with a view to cross-border coordination. The wording sets Austria-specific priorities, and the clear structure of the MUST and TARGET criteria shows an initial cross-border harmonization strategy.The further development of the Austrian criteria catalog ÖFI (Level 1), based on RL-UZ76 of the Austrian Ecolabel, was made necessary by the rapid developments and the introduction and regulations of the Green Bonus ÖFI+.SPECIAL CROSS-BORDER COLLABORATION:ÖFI Green Filming Department * EVERGREEN PRISMA * FFA FILMFÖRDERUNGSANSTALT DEUTSCHLANDIn keeping with their synergy model for green filming and green funding, ÖFI and EVERGREEN PRISMA are working with the FFA on cross-border solutions in an appreciative cooperation and with forward-looking vision.The effective cooperation is already reflected in several areas and through the expansion of successful bridge-building instruments to support practical implementation:

• Coordination and joint development of verification procedures
• Mutual recognition of Green Film Consultants (Germany, Austria)
• Film- and countryspecific CO2 calculator (klimaktiv)
